Ben Stiller and Robert Downey Jr. star in the edgy comedy about actors who think they are in a war movie but are actually soldiers in an enemy’s land. Through over-the-top acting and ridiculous events, a platoon of problem-stricken actors must fight to escape a military group, the Dragons. “Tropic Thunder” is an entertaining ride full of character misfortunes as well as a satirical look at Hollywood. The love of money and the endless pursuit to attain it center at a message of the movie. Eventually, this worldview is rejected as insufficient to a person’s existence. Any political correctness is thrown out the window and some of the comedy is distasteful.  (R for R pervasive language, violent content and drug material) Run time: 107 min. 3.5 out of 5 stars.
