Album Review: Zach Vinson shares his latest release
Zach Vinson’s new album “Cracked Open” will be released on Nov. 18. A native of Cornerstone, Vinson embodies a sincere presentation of musical artistry. His vocals are powerful and dynamic but also balance well in the quieter, reflective parts. Many of the songs are serious looks at life with remarkable insights.
The accompanying music shows the great ingenuity and creativity Vinson crafts into his songs. From catchy guitar riffs and driving percussion to sections of slower piano, the album spans broad musical genres while remaining in a distinct style. Vinson mans the guitar and piano throughout the album to provide solid support to his singing. His music goes beyond mere catchiness to multiple examples of intricate instrumentation. Both the vocals and music never strike a dull moment throughout the entire release.
“Cracked Open” is an excellent release for anyone who enjoys the limitless reach of indie music done well. Vinson and the other musicians on the album display a maturity in their sound and songwriting. The album will satisfy listeners urge to rock out and still cause them to reflect on different aspects of life. “Cracked Open” is an eventful musical journey that makes for an excellent release.
Vinson will be releasing the album at a CD release party on Nov. 19 at 8 p.m. in the Corum at Cornerstone University.
