Film Review: “Eagle Eye” marks an average attempt

Shia LaBeouf shows his potential as a grown man in “Eagle Eye,” a science-fiction type story full of action. The plot involves Jerry Shaw (LaBeouf) who receives a mysterious call to vacate his apartment quickly before the FBI arrives. Following multiple action-packed and tense scenes, the movie eventually has to reveal the hidden hand behind the calls and orders directing Shaw and another woman’s actions. Although the potential for an interesting and twisting story is there, “Eagle Eye” falls flat once the culprit and enemy is revealed. The excitement created initially in the movie does not end well once everything is explained. Despite the film not fitting into the typical science-fiction mold, the same disappointing ending and lack of imagination make the film quite average. Rated PG-13 for intense sequences of action and violence, and for language. Running time: 118 minutes.
